Dr. Sarah Mandel is a New Jersey based psychotherapist and has a license in clinical social work. She earned her Doctorate in Clinical Social Work at the University of Pennsylvania, where her dissertation was a qualitative research study on the experience of smartphone use in newlywed marriage. Dr. Mandel has a master’s in Social Work from Rutgers University. Her post-graduate education includes a certification in EMDR therapy and additionally an advanced certification in Imago relationship therapy. Before beginning her clinical psychotherapy career, she received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and worked as a Registered Nurse in surgery and oncology.

Dr. Mandel provides individual psychotherapy and couples counseling. Her experience in mental health settings helped her develop the essential skills to offer the most effective and caring therapeutic experience in a trusting environment. Additionally, she has had years of experience working in medical settings and hospitals, providing therapy to patients receiving cancer treatment to improve their ability to cope and their overall sense of well-being.

With her unique dual background, Dr. Mandel is a multifaceted and gifted therapist. She is warm, knowledgeable, and perceptive. She enables her clients to look honestly at themselves and learn how to take their own steps in healing and transformation. Ongoing training in EMDR therapy and in Imago Relationship therapy, along with other means of remaining active in the field of psychotherapy, consistently play a role in Dr. Mandel’s practice to ensure the most current and ethical therapeutic approaches for her clients.
